Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 17 – An Art Piece (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Etc.)

I’m not much of an art buff, but as far as famous art goes there is only one piece that has ever really caught my eye. It is the Sistine Chapel ceiling artwork done by Michelangelo.  I can’t imagine the effort he had to put into this.  Not only to have so many beautiful images on one surface, but to have painted it on a ceiling! Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 16 – A Song That Makes You Cry (Or Nearly)

The song that immediately comes to mind is “Always On My Mind” by Elvis Presley or Willie Nelson.  My Dad is not a very romantic or overly expressive person about his feelings so when he chose this song for my Mom’s funeral when she passed away it was so fitting and perfect that now every time I hear it I think of that and it makes me realize just how much he really did love her.

Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 15 – A Fanfic

Quite honestly… I had NO idea what a fanfic was when I read this, ha ha!  I had to Google it and find out what it meant.  Apparently a fanfic is a story written from the idea/character, situation, etc from another book.  For instance, there have been a lot of books written based off of the Harry Potter stories.  There have been cookbooks and other “spins” off of the stories… such as stories about his extended family and such.  I can’t say that I’ve ever read a fanfic book, but in looking Read more […]

Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 14 – A Non-Fiction Book

A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer

One of the best, but most heartwrenching, books I’ve ever read is A Child Called “It”.  This book was written by Dave Pelzer who, unfortunately, was this child. I highly recommend everyone to read this, but be warned that it is a vivid account of the abuses he suffered while growing up and there are sequels that continue to describe his journey and how he overcame it and became the man he is today.  Here is a picture of the cover of the book and if you click on the image it will take you to Goodreads Read more […]

Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 13 – A Fictional Book

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

One of my all time favorite books is The Hobbit!  I am really excited about this being made into a movie and I can’t wait to see it!  I read this book, along with the Lord Of Rings Trilogy, when I was a really young girl!  The books were old even when I read them.  My family loved to go to yard sales on the weekends and my Dad knew that I was headed to look through any books someone might have for sale at a yard sale!  I found these 4 books at a yard sale and convinced my Dad to buy them for Read more […]

Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 11 – A Photo Of You Taken Recently

Christmas Eve 2012

Gosh, I don’t have any decent recent pictures, ha ha!  The most recent I have were taken on Christmas Eve and my hair was up in a bun and a mess and I had NO makeup on or anything… so if I scare you, I apologize ahead of time! <3  Also, keep in mind that I’m 28 weeks pregnant… :-P   Read more […]

Original 30 Day Challenge – Day 9 – A Photo You Took

My Dad & My Daughter, Chrissy

I’m not much for photos of random things… so most photos that I have taken are of my family, friends, etc.  I decided on a picture of my 21 yr old daughter and my Dad on the day of her high school graduation.  This picture was taken in May 2009, right before my daughter turned 18 yrs old!  It is so hard to believe she is all grown with 2 babies of her own!
